What gives me peace

My husband's hands. The way he smells. My cat Ben. Lily when she sleeps. My dress from Desigual. My mom's bed. Sitting by my brother's grave. Water. Fresh flowers. Lemons. A good book. Tame hair. Clean towels.

That's a really beautiful post. I realised earlier this year that I wasn't always sure what things did give me peace. Which made it tricky when I needed to find some ;)

The air when it feels fresh. The night. The stars. Writing or reading, depending on my mood. Bed with clean sheets and you snuggle down and it feels fresh. Showers. Being outside when it is peaceful.

Who is Lily?

Lily is my ragdoll cat. It helps to identify these things, doesn't it? It felt right suddenly to look towards my sources of peace, not just the sources of disquiet. You know, you bring me peace too.

I had this post in my mind for a few days after reading it. I was amazed at how much there can be sometimes.

I think our mental & emotional state as a whole contributes to them a lot, too. I feel so much more at peace and... in tune with myself and with the world at the moment than I did some months ago. I am able to relax and appreciate the peace that these things bring so much more :)

Not quite where I should be yet, but it was good to remember how it feels. To realise that it had not been there when it started to return.

Wow, phew, said more there than I was expecting ;)

I love my blog for the peace it brought me. Sometimes, things would be so stuck in my head they would just repeat in circles. Just plain writing helps sometimes, but other times... I don't know. It's just nicer to write and know someone is listening.

Realising you need to look more to the things that bring you peace than disquiet sounds very wise :)

Hey there's some trashy pop song in the charts at the moment that samples a Cure song, so it reminds me of you.

Hope you are well :)
